Is this sound right with a down economy? Well for one, lending money is very tight right now for banks. Many of them are doing everything they can to hold on. This means that they will offer high interest rates on certificate of deposits to receive and hold money while things are tough rather than lending money out.

This is not only good for you and I, but for those that have plenty of money in savings, they can take and invest that money to get even a higher return on their investment. Florida is just one of the many states doing this with the housing market bubble.

Florida bank CD rates

Florida Bank has some great CD rates the last time I checked them. There are a lot of struggling banks though and as you may know the investment in bank options has been horrible lately. Do you live in South Florida and want a bank thats going to perform the way you want? Then you need to get an account at Florida bank so you can get the best return with their CD rates.

Florida is a hoy place to live and so it sure is nice to know that you have some money in the bank that is gaining you interest while you sleep. So the next time you think about just putting your money in a checking account, you may want to consider putting it in something that will make you some decent money like the Florida bank CD rates that we have been talking about.

As far as the amount that the Florida bank CD rates are paying at this time, you will need to call them and find out. At one point they were well above 5% but I think that has probably changed since last time.

Gmac Bank CD Rates

Gmac is one of those banks that give you a good feeling when you invest. I wish I could say that GMAC bank CD rates looked good. But as far as I can see right now they are lagging like most of the banks out there. What can be done to correct this situation and get things back on track? There are a lot of people out there that think that our economy is not going to recover for a long time which means banks like GMAC and Bank of America CD rates are going to craps.

The first thing we need to remember is that there are a lot of borrowers and no payers which is causing the bank foreclosures which in turn causes the lower cd rates passed down to you and I the consumers. The solution then is too look at what you invest in on a short term basis and factor in whether the wait is worth it. So once again Gmac Bank CD rates are not the bets but they are not the worst cd rates either, so we leave it up to you to invest or not.

Best CD rates For Short Term

Ok so with all the lows that we have been seeing with cd rates, do you think it is important to invest long term? Well think about the best cd rates right now. they don't seem to be as high as we are used too. Could this change? It surely could, but we will have to wait and see. We have seen banks like bank of Connecticut as well as Maryland bank and many others have some really low showing cd rates. With that all in mind we have to think about the fact that if things were to change, then the cd rates we have locked in may keep up stuck in one place for a while , because if it is withdrawn then there will be a CD penalty.

Maybe it would be a good idea to go with short term 30 day cd rates or 90 day cd rates and keep investing that way so we know what we will be able to invest in again after the money comes back out. that way in the future if things do take a turn you can take the money out and put it in a higher cd rate term if the economy interest rates get back in the green area. Just a thought, but everyone has to make their own investing decisions.

One United Bank CD Rates

Since the Fed cut rates finding the best cd rates has been pretty difficult, but One United Bank has an amazing offer going on. You would think they would be cutting their cd rates and following the lead of the larger banks and Credit Unions, but this is not so, so what does this tell us? Thats right these guys have close to the highest cd rates out there.

They sre giving out as of current 5.30% APY which is really high. Most banks have dropped well below 5% APY. So what are the incentives to sign up with One United Bank? Well sign up for an account. And when you do they will even throw in an extra $50 bucks for doing so. I don't think you can really go wrong on this one.

Ok so heres how you get the $50 dollars, you sign up at their site, then you either get the direct deposit going or make 20 purchases with the Visa debit card, and then they will give you the credit. Thats really not a bad deal!

Why Bigger Banks CD Rates Are Better

The best cd rates out there are usually found with larger banks. Now Dont get me wrong, I like smaller banks, and I feel like many times they are more attentive to your needs, but they do not have enough backing to give you the higher CD that a large bank can. The best cd rates from smaller banks are usually a longer term cd.

With this in mind it is always good to check with your local banks and ask what they are offering and a comparison of what they have compared to other banks around. Small CD Rates

There are a lot of small companies, or rather banks that have their own cd rates. The problem with Small banks is that they are not usually as strong as the larger banks. We live in a time where there is a monopoly so to speak of banks. Getting the best cd rates depends much on where you bank. Not every bank will also have the same amount to invest and this is where smaller banks usually make the richer people invest.

When a Small bank has a specific cd rate which you think is attractive, they usually want you to invest sometimes upwards of $50,000 dollars or more. This is because they need larger investments to make their profits worth it to them to give you such a good rate.

On the other hand, larger banks will many time give you the highest cd rates because they know that they can offer that. After all they are a large bank. And because they are so many people will invest in the same cd rates as you. With all this money put together as a whole they will be better able to make the investments that will give you a nice return with a smaller investment.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://bestcdratesblog.blogspot.com/2008/01/large-vs-small-cd-rates.html' title='Large Vs. This particular Wachovia bank offer is the 24 month step rate CD. basically you will need to have about one thousand dollars to invest, and you will have a fixed term for this cd rate. this is obviously 24 months, but there is a nice catch with Wachovia.

Your cd rate will change every 6 months which will bring you up to most likely a higher rate. This is a plus if you do not want to be stuck into a locked rate for along period of time. So this means that your cd rate will change sometimes. If the cd rate goes lower you can still choose to not be updated to the current rate. this is a great way of having versatility and being able to lockin what you want on the best cd rates around.

Best cd rates info

Everyone is looking for the best cd rates, since the banks arer offering such low interest rates than they did before. How can you make sure that you are getting the best cd rates for the money you are investing? You will need to study up on banks and on what the 6 month cd rate is as well as longer terms.

Right now with the economy is as it is, it may be difficult to get a cd rate that you are pretty satisfied with. You may want to look to online banking to see if this will fit into your investment portfolio.

Keep in mind that the larger banks is not going to be the best places to look.
